Illustration + Art

A collection of works featuring a mix of illustrations, paintings, mix-media art, and printmaking

Illustrations

  • The first illustration was made based on a poem written by a friend of mine. The second one was made for Inktober with the prompt: Dream. The third illustration is based on the prompt “shattered”.

I love to use Procreate and Adobe Photoshop to create digital illustrations. I aim for creating somewhat interpretative illustrations which can have multiple interpretations, depending upon who is viewing them.

Paintings

  • The first painting is a thematic representation of the entrapment of a woman’s spirit and the juxtaposition of that with the freedom of a bird she’s admiring. The second painting is a literal representation of how time flies. The third painting is of two people in. a very intimate position, attempting to depict the closeness of their relationship juxtaposed with the warmth of passion and the cool of conflicts in a relationship.

My preferred painting mediums include acrylic paints, oil paints, and water colours, and I love worki ng with any kind of materials that I can paint with and surfaces I can paint on.

Collages

  • These are a collection of experimental collages that I like to do in my free time as a fun creative outlet. These are generally a mix of paper cut-outs, found imagery, typography, and digital illustrations. As with most of my work, all of this is open to interpretation.

Printmaking

  • Experimenting with screenprinting has given me a good outlet for expressing myself, different from illustrations and painting. I have a lot of fun playing around with a variety of different colours, and mediums, mixing different gradients through paints to create a visually striking body of work which has a general underlying theme but is also open to interpretation. For these three pieces, I have used acrylic paint on paper.
